Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how the Volume Booster browser extension ("Volume Booster", "we", "our") handles information. Volume Booster is designed to be private by design: it boosts and equalizes the audio of your browser tabs entirely on your own device.

Information we collect

None

Volume Booster does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information, browsing data, or audio. Specifically:

• No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking
• No accounts, sign-in, or user profiles
• No advertising or ad networks
• No network or server requests of any kind
• No selling or sharing of data with third parties

How your audio is handled

All audio boosting and equalization happens locally, in real time, using your browser's built-in Web Audio technology inside a hidden offscreen document. Your audio is never recorded, stored, or uploaded. When you stop boosting a tab, its audio returns to normal and nothing is retained.

Data stored on your device

To make the extension useful, the following is saved only in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) and is never transmitted anywhere. You can erase it at any time.

Volume Booster does not keep any browsing history — it stores no list of the sites you visit. You can remove everything above at any time from Settings → Reset all settings, or by uninstalling the extension.

Permissions we request

Each permission is used only to make Volume Booster work, and never to gather data:

tabCapture	Capture a tab's audio so it can be boosted and equalized (processed on-device)
offscreen	Run the real-time audio engine that a service worker cannot host
storage	Save your settings locally on your device
tabs / activeTab	Identify the current tab and apply the boost to it

Volume Booster requests no host permissions and cannot read the content of the web pages you visit — only the audio you explicitly choose to boost.

Data sharing and selling

We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties. We do not use or transfer your data for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose, and never to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. Because no data is collected, there is nothing to share.

Children's privacy

Volume Booster does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
